Hair and Makeup Trial I: A Kind of Fail

In looking for a hair and makeup artist (”MUA”), I had to find someone close enough to Half Moon Bay so that the travel fee didn’t equal the cost of a kidney (which I assume is pricey). The first place where I had a trial was very close to our venue. After my trial, I had that kind of experience where at first you’re okay with it (b/c you really want it to be okay), and then the more you think about it the more problems you realize there were, and then after a while you’ve worked yourself into a frenzy where you’re on the phone with your mom shouting, “No good! No good!” Look at the bun she made.

Backyard Wedding from Michele Waite

I just love a backyard wedding… especially when it’s a lovely affair like this one sent to us by Michèle Waite . So simple and still so effortlessly chic. I am particularly smitten with this color palette… the pretty pinks and soft grays, just gorgeous.

You Can’t Come to MD and Not Eat Crabs! (Unless You’re Vegan)

Now that we know our rehearsal will definitely be taking place the Friday afternoon before the wedding (there was a chance it would be Thursday), it’s time to think about the rehearsal dinner! Luckily for me, the thinking here is going to be done primarily by Mr. Guinea Pig’s parents, as they have generously offered to host the dinner

The “Somethings” Tradition

I’ll admit, I haven’t put too much thought into the “Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue” tradition, but sometimes things just have a funny way of working themselves out on their own. The “new” part of this tradition is easy.

The Scissors’ Engagement Pictures: Part 2

In this installment, explainings will be after the pictures! I now present… *All photos by Matt Miller After we were finished playing in the field, Matt asked us where we’d like to go next. We’d previously discussed going to Little Five to run around, so I sort-of cautiously suggested that we head to Little Five, but there might be a cool place on the way for us to shoot. I explained that there was this random papered-up graffiti on an underpass on Memorial, and it had “Pray for ATL” written on it

November In Texas ~ The Barr Mansion From Elite Video Productions

While we hear the term vintage in the wedding world alot, I think that the quaint elegance of the Barr Mansion ~ the site of Rick & Jennifer’s November wedding ~ is more accurately described as antique chic ! Maybe that sounds silly. Vintage vs. antique?

The Chapmans (Portrait Session)

This week we are spending the Holiday Season back in my home town of Chicago, IL.   While we are here we have a couple of sessions lined up.  One of our sessions took place yesterday at the Chapman’s residence. I photographed this beautiful family while they were visiting Hilton Head last year.  This session was a little different, since it now took place in the snow rather then the beach!  hehehe Carin and Craig’s two boys, Jack and Nicholas have so much energy!  They are the cutest little boys, and know how to have fun!  It was a blast to be able to play and shoot in the snow, and I think the boys enjoyed it too.  Rich and I had such a good time with your family, and congratulations on the little one that is on the way!  Jack and Nicholas will soon have a little sister! Thank you for letting us spend the afternoon with your family! I thought I’d share a couple images from the day.

Blue Skies Cinema And The Red Velvet Couch

It’s rare that we publish a trash the dress session. And although the dress in this film does take quite a beating, it’s really not about that! This film is SO full of energy and SO full of life that I couldn’t help busting out in a huge grin! This shoot from Blue Skies Cinema is just an amazing example of the aura of out & out glee surrounding this bride on her big day. This bride OWNS her dress and OWNS her happiness like no other I’ve ever seen! I mean, come on, when will you ever get to do something like this again!?! Her joy and passion are written all over the day!! You’ll see what I mean.

Pete Doherty Gets Charged

Pete Doherty was arrested earlier this week and it has now been revealed that the singer is being charged with heroin possession. The Babyshambles rock star was arrested quickly after appearing in court for other charges and he will be heading back to court this coming January for the new ones. Pete could also be facing charges for an alleged hit and run that left a pedestrian in critical condition.

Susan Boyle happier than ever after

Susan Boyle says she is now happier than she has ever been after a “brilliant year”. The Britain’s Got Talent runner-up – whose album I Dreamed A Dream is poised to be the UK’s top seller this year – said her success was “humbling” and she was looking forward to 2010. Her CD has sold more than 1.4 million copies in the UK alone, overtaking the likes of Lady Gaga, Kings of Leon and Michael Buble

Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #2 (Laika)

I’ve got a quick Christmas Eve post for everyone today, before the circus known as the Ukrainian Christmas Feast begins at my family’s place.  With all the recent hoopla surrounding a possible Arcade Fire release in 2010, now seems like a good time to post another tune from the band.  If you haven’t heard the aforementioned hoopla, early on in December Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons revealed that producer Markus Dravs had been working with Arcade Fire for the last 6 months.

Shania Twain – Forever And For Always Lyrics

Forever And For Always is a song by Canadian singer “Shania Twain” from the album Up! , released in the United States radio on April 7, 2003. The song is written by Robert John “Mutt” Lange and Shania Twain. Shania Twain – Forever And For Always Lyrics : In your arms I can still feel the way you want me when you hold me I can still hear the words you whispered when you told me I can stay right here forever in your arms And there ain’t no way I’m lettin’ you go now And there ain’t no way and there ain’t not how I’ll never see that day [Chorus:] ‘Cause I’m keeping you forever and for always We will be together all of our day Wanna wake up every morning to your sweet facealways Mmmm, baby In your heart-I can still hear a beat for every time you kiss me And when we’re apart, I know how much you miss me I can feel your love for me in your heart And there ain’t no way I’m lettin’ you go now And there ain’t now way and there ain’t no how I’ll never see that day [Repeat Chorus] (I wanna wake up every morning) In your eyes (I can still see the look of the one) I can still see the look of the one who really loves me (I can still feel the way that you want) The one who wouldn’t put anything else in the world above me (I can still see love for me) I can still see love for me in your eyes (I still see the love) And there ain’t no way I’m lettin’ you go now And there ain’t no way and there ain’t no how I’ll never see that day [Repeat Chorus (2x)] I’m keeping you forever and for always I’m in your arms.

Phil Collins – Find A Way To My Heart Lyrics

Find A Way To My Heart is a song by “Phil Collins” from the Album …But Seriously, released on 7 November 1989 on Virgin in the UK and Ireland, Atlantic in the US and Canada, WEA Records (now Warner Music Group) for the rest of the world. Phil Collins – Find A Way To My Heart Lyrics : Find a way to my heart, and I will always be with you From wherever you are, I’ll be waiting I’ll keep a place in my heart, you will see it shining through So find a way to my heart, and I will, I will follow you This journey’s not easyfor you, I know If your footsteps get too faint to hear, I’ll go Cos you know, quesations are never that easy And never the same You have the answer believe me If you have the faith Find a way to my heart… Time may come, and time may go, I know If you should call out for me, I’ll go But you know, there is a code to be broken I wrap it around Without a word being spoken Without a sound Ther’s a reason I hide my heart Out of sight out of mind And when I find out just who you are The door will be open for you to.
