Rebekah & Justin’s Hillbilly Chic Wedding

The Offbeat Bride: Rebekah Borucki, Studio Manager, Justin Borucki Photography (and OBT member ” Rebekah “) Her Offbeat Partner: Justin Borucki , Photographer Location & date of wedding: Woodloch Pines Resort , Pocono Mountains, Hawley, Pennsylvania — January 23, 2009 What made our wedding offbeat: Our wedding could not have been more perfectly “us.” Justin is a Brooklyn boy with country tastes and I'm a Jersey girl and mom of three, and there was not one part of the wedding from the decor to the music that didn't echo those descriptions. We decided from the very beginning that this wedding would be for our guests with an emphasis on fun. For the ceremony and cocktail hour we hired a ridiculously cool bluegrass band from Doylestown, PA called ” The Pluckin' Grassholes ” (my FMIL was NOT pleased that their “offensive” name appeared on the program).

Joe and Katie’s wedding at the Union Club in Downtown Cleveland

This past Friday, Katie’s Dad got to walk Katie down the aisle to meet Joe just six months after he walked Katie’s sister down the aisle to meet her new husband. I’ll bet it’s been quite the year for Katie’s family, and from what we could tell, Katie and Joe’s wedding was the perfect capstone to what I imagine was a pretty interesting season of planning. We started our day at St

Masks and Moustaches

My friends Sophia and Mike are an artistic couple, so I’ve been trying to think of things that I can send them that reflect their fun, laid back style.  Then I remembered these super fun  mustaches on a stick  photographed recently by Carl Zoch  – how fun would these be for a photobooth?! Check out more pictures from the fantastically fun wedding above here . These smile on a stick masks  below are available in a couple of different designs, and are a ton of fun too.

Tin Cans Redone…

I’ve been seriously neglecting my Google reader lately, and while going through a little clean-up last night I came across this image on 100 Layer Cake. Cute – Check! DIYable – Check! Wallet Friendly – Check! But I already have a concept for table numbers, so I was thinking, ‘what else could I do with these?’ ’W E L C O M E’ ’L O V E’ They would look so cute on our entry table, or possibly at the rehearsal dinner. What’s helping me to stay sane is a little organization .

The Most Dedicated Wedding Blog Goes To The Relentless Bride

With a wedding date almost two years after the proposal, and the frequency that she blogs dedicated is an understatement. The best part is that The Relentless Bride is an actual bride. Although you can get some really fabulous advice from professionals the very best advice comes from actual brides actually planning a wedding.

Bridesmaids Dresses Remix

Going along with my ever-present theme of changing my mind about every possible wedding-related detail, I did the unthinkable and changed plans on my bridesmaids after I’d already asked them to buy their dresses. Before you think I’m a horrible person, please hear me out! I had originally been planning a pomegranate and gold color scheme, and I found these cute, classic pomegranate-colored dresses (called vintage burgundy) on the J.Crew website. Source I thought the color was perfect and the shape would flatter all my ’maids.

Candice & Greg’s Zombie Walk Wedding

The Offbeat Bride: Candice, massage therapy student and full-time Mom Her Offbeat Partner: Greg, security guard Location & date of wedding: Waterloo Park petting zoo, Waterloo, ON — October 18, 2008 What made our wedding offbeat: We planned the entire thing in two weeks, and executed everything on a miniscule budget, covering ourselves in blood and gore and joining an already public event — the beginning of the Waterloo Zombie Walk in Waterloo Park. The few little details were DIY, and we skipped the majority of tradition, including invitations and a reception. Our biggest challenge: Family! Originally, we were planning a somewhat offbeat wedding that would fulfill our family member's ideals, but still be an expression of our lifestyle, and love for each other

The Rehearsal Dinner: Laid Back Austin-Style

Luckily for us, the Dude’s parents offered to pay for our rehearsal dinner! Because they live in Colorado, and because I love planning, we will be doing most of the “planning” for it ourselves. We’ve got all the basics figured out, so now all we have to do is nail down the details. Our side yard/backyard We decided, after a brief hesitation, to hold it at our house
