Fabulous Mappin’

Say it with me: “Map love, love, love !” Source: Pantomime Papers “Penny” of Pantomime Papers a.k.a. Miss Snapdragon a.k.a. Heather has truly outdone herself! When I heard she was creating custom maps I jumped on it immediately and contacted her about creating one for our wedding.Since everything on our wedding day will be very close together within Oak Park, we didn’t feel our guests needed a map to show them how to get from point A to point B.

Sylvia Weinstock and Randy Fenoli Busting a Move!

Engage 09 in the Cayman Islands was, in one word, LEGENDARY. You can catch up on all the tweets about it here – most of us came back on Wednesday, but there are some party peeps still on the island! While I gather pictures from some of the many fabulous photographers that were there, I thought I’d share a video clip from a party on the last night of the conference. Two of my favorite people in the wedding industry – 79 years young Sylvia Weinstock and Kleinfeld / Say Yes to the Dress’ Randy Fenoli — showed us all how to bust a move! A beautiful ceremony – a beautiful couple!

(Disclaimer:  My Nikon’s on the fritz - but hopefully later today someone (leah? christina?) will forward me shots that do justice to this exquisite wedding ceremony…Meanwhile, here are the best of my camera phone pics, on a humid June afternoon – LOL!) We arrive, high heels a-blazin, at Windermere Country Club, 6:45 pm EST - preceeded by a brief but blessed storm front that cooled the air to a delightful 85 degrees.  A beautiful venue of rolling hills and lucious golf-course greens, Skip

And I headed straight to the Dooby Design Group website because I knew I had seen some incredible displays! I have to laugh, though! With each photograph, I find myself very carefully studying the choices and planning just what I would have placed in my goodie bag had I been there! * * * It’s not really fair to just talk about the fabulous candy displays that the Dooby Design Group creates. They are a Michigan-based full service design studio … from custom invitations, florals, event decor (to elegant candy stations)! They also have specialty linens that are just amazing! ‘Cause This is Thriller, Thriller Night

I know I’m not the only one who was shaken up by yesterday’s news that Michael Jackson had suddenly passed away. I remember sneaking into my older brother’s closet when I was little and discovering his instructional booklet on how to moonwalk, which I thought was just about the coolest thing ever (that was before I discovered layering neon socks). Despite my love for M.J., I’ve always been a little bit terrified of the Thriller video, but this past Halloween I faced my fears (and dancing phobia) and learned part of the Thriller dance for our friend’s wedding

PRO: {Real Grooms: What’s Important, What’s Not? Part One}

In the next post of the Real Grooms Series , I asked our resident “groom”, Danny Lai, to give his advice on what really matters most during those hectic yet important planning stages of the wedding. Danny tells me that the best advice you can get (regarding what matters most during the planning and the actual wedding) are from people who planned their own wedding.

Lindsay and Eddie (Engagement)

Had a great time spending the afternoon on Hilton Head beach with Lindsay and Eddie… It was so great that we found a nice secluded area, which always helps in bringing out the real interaction in a couple. I feel, when a couple feels comfortable in their surroundings, then usually they feel more comfortable being themselves. Not to mention, I’m sure Lindsay and Eddie didn’t want any pics with people in bathing suits behind them

Sweet, Sophisticated Wedding in Maryland

We are finally wrapping up our Cayman Island trip and although I am sad to leave, I am ready to get back home and see my little girl! Plus, it’s all rainy here so it’s the perfect day to leave! Today, I wanted to share this adorable wedding that came through our office from a pretty devoted SMP reader. She has taken a lot of time to give us all of the fabulous details (which I love) so I am just going to get right to it! From Laya… We were married May 9, 2009 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Vandiver Inn, Havre de Grace, MD

Make It A Keepsake To Remember

Wedding planning is best not to be left until the last minute because there is a lot of work involved in getting ready for it and the last thing you want is to be running around all over the place at the last minute up and down trying to get things in order. Everything should be planned well in advance, including preparing for the wedding favors. When it comes to picking out the perfect wedding favor, it is best if you don’t leave it to the last minute because sometimes it requires quite some

A Few of our June Wedding Cakes- Savannah Wedding Cakes

6.25.09 I spent the weekend with my sweet sister Jena and her BFF Bill.  Jena and Bill live in Atlanta and we don’t get to see each other as often we would like.  Phone calls are wonderful but there is nothing like talking in person!  When we met-up in Orlando her first words to me were “you need to update your blog and post some of your wedding cake pictures.”  So much for the “it’s great to see you.” Sisters! Jena…this blog is for you…enjoy! This reception was held in Bluffton overlooki

Seasonal Wedding Menu Ideas by Satsuma Press

We are finishing up the day with Lynn Russell of Satsuma Press and some pure deliciousness. Lynn is giving us her tips for creating a really beautiful, seasonal menu. One of the things I absolutely love to do (besides print, of course) is cook.  And I think one of the most memorable parts of a wedding can and should be the food!  I thought I’d just include a few sample menus, one for each season.   These are all menus that I made up when printing the samples for the Satsuma Press Wedding Line! Long before I was a printer, I was a cook – so I particularly like it when the two intersect.

Fast Weight Loss – Is it a Health Hazard That Women Should Avoid? Helpful Information to Take Into Consideration

We’ve all been there. You get a wedding invitation in the mail, or some other important event, and the first thought that enters your mind is: “I’ve got to get this weight off, NOW!” That’s a totally normal reaction, and how you might act on your desire for fast Weight Loss is story unto itself

Ya Mon! Reggae Sailing

*Disclaimer: I can’t even describe how difficult it is to pick only a few pictures for these recaps! When I can’t pick just one (or two), I’m going to start inserting photo collages. Not only do they look great, but you don’t miss anything either! Thanks, Mrs. Quiche : ) We didn’t want to burden our family and friends with organized activities (after all, this is also a vacation for them, not just our wedding!), but we wanted to adequately thank them for traveling to Jamaica to celebrate with us.

PRO: Follow Along Ceremony: Creating Rituals

Sarah and John wanted to include two rituals I had never done before into their wedding ceremony -a Sapling Planting and a Circle of Love. They got the idea for the Circle of Love from John & Kate Plus 8, when they had their vow renewal in Hawaii (side note: watching that episode last week for research made me a little sad with the Gosselin’s recent news).

Bespoke Invitations by Satsuma Press

Lynn Russell of Satsuma Press is an absolute doll. Not only is she all talent (literally to the tips of her toes), but she is a sweet person and a fabulous guest blogger! Can’t ask for much more than that when you run a wedding blog! * * * Arwen and Saul were some of my very favorite clients ever – so much so that we stay in touch even now, a year after their wedding.   What began as an eucalyptus drawing for their wedding invitations ended with a tandem bicycle!!  I love working on custo
