Tom and Rhonda’s wedding at Sammy’s Manakiki and Legacy Village

When Tom and Rhonda told us that they both manage catering and events for Sammy’s , one for the largest catering companies here in the Cleveland area, we weren’t too terribly surprised to hear that they would be making use of both the Manakiki Golf Club location for the ceremony, and the Legacy Village location for the reception. Even if they hadn’t told us, the fact that Rhonda went around hugging the wait staff at Legacy during cocktail hour probably would have tipped us off that something was up.

May I Present to You…

Our invitations! As all DIY invites are to the brides that spend hours slaving over them, these were truly a labor of love. I designed them, cut them out, rounded the corners, attached the ribbon, made the belly bands, cut out envelope liners, attached envelope liners, stuffed and embossed the pocketfolds, stuffed the envelopes, sealed and stamped all 215 of them with the help of Mr. M, our families, and a dear friend

Rue La La KitchenAid Sale!

I just got notice that Rue La La will be opening their KitchenAid boutique this Wednesday, July 15! Rue La La is similar to Gilt Groupe, but features brands that are a little bit more “accessible”. You’ll usually see discount boutiques of brands that are featured at department stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s. And what else did I see in the preview, but… Ooh! Sometimes when I’m buying a wedding gift for a friend and notice that their KitchenAid mixer hasn’t been purchased off their registry and their showers have passed, I get a little bit sad for them

Wedding Crashers, Anyone?

Two nights before the wedding (a Friday), we expect our bridal party and a few other people will be roaming around Devil’s Thumb Ranch and the surrounding areas looking for something to do. Our rehearsal dinner won’t be going on until the following night, and since it’s a destination wedding, we’re pretty sure quite a few of our guests will already be in town, making a vacation of it! So, we figure we should provide a little wedding-related entertainment. Enter: Wedding Crashers .

Connecticut Newborn Photographer, Heartprint Portrait Family Photography, Watertown, Middlebury, Woodbury, Litchfield, Southbury, Avon, Simsbury

Connecticut-Newborn-Photographer,-Family,-Child-Photography   Connecticut-Newborn-Photographer,-Family,-Child-Photography We are so excited to show these adorable newborn portraits, this little guy is absolutly adorable!  He was very interested in everything that was going on around him, he really fought falling asleep!  I just love his little pursed lips and oh-so-cute ‘cupie doll’ curl of hair!  This little guy is a third child, with two very active big sisters, he is one lucky little fella. Parents often ask what the best age is for newborn portraits, and the answer is, the earlier the better!  The newer they are, the more curled up and ‘newborn’ they look, that stage really only lasts for a few sweet weeks.  If you are expecting and don’t want to miss out on capturing that moment in their lives, call early, even while you are still expecting.  We are more than happy to make room in our schedule for your newest family member!

"Did you know" centerpieces + tons of DIY inspiration

Here's a wonderful DIY non-floral centerpiece idea from Katie Sue 's wedding — a log-sliced wooden base, with two wrapped candles and trivia about wedding traditions held aloft for guests ponder: Katie Sue says: Nearly everything purchased for the wedding was on sale, free, or crafted with things I already had or could easily find. My fiance and I had craft-night nearly every night for about 7 months leading up to the wedding. We hand-made everything we could, including the boutonnieres , invitations, programs , thank-yous, centerpieces, signage, bouquet , and headpieces

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan’s Wedding

Almost four years after destiny paired them together for the movie Step Up , Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan waltzed down the aisle on the afternoon of July 11, 2009. Having already welcomed wedding guests for the notable nuptials of both Fergie and Natasha Bedingfield earlier in the year, the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu once again prepared its grounds for a star-studded ceremony, E! online reports. Love, Texas Style: A Few Final Touches for the Boys

We were all under very strict orders to arrive at the Club no later than 4PM. This made sense for the ladies as we toted our dresses and accouterments to the boardroom and were set to finish getting ready there. The boys, on the other hand, had thrown their tuxes on at the hotel, so they ended up with roughly an hour and a half to burn in the Grill.

Makeup I Love Part II

I shared some of my favorite makeup products in a post last year, and since so many brides are diy-ing their makeup nowadays, I thought I’d share a couple of my recent favorite finds! For someone who probably wears makeup around three times a month, I sure have a lot of it.  I’m so lazy about putting it on, but I do love makeup! Both of these train cases were purchased off ebay for around $25.  I’ve given many away as gifts! I’ve been very lucky to have my makeup done by some of the most talented ladies in the biz including: Nam Vo , Laura Nadeau , Ai Sakai , Sachiko Yanase ,  Joyce Luck , and our very own Mrs.

Asking for Your Hand…

I was perusing Dear Abby (yet again…shameless!) & the topic of asking your girlfriend’s parents for “permission” to marry their daughter was heating up! The reader responses were all over the board, of course. Some stated that they were independent women who have been succeeding on their own & would be downright insulted if their fiance asked her parents first. That to me is a bit ridiculous… insulted

Shower Sneak Peek

This past weekend I had my second bridal shower. I don’t have any pictures back yet from the photographer (yes, there was a photographer) so I don’t want to give a full rundown of the event until I get them back. But I do want to share a sneak peek with you of the beautiful tablescapes that were created for the shower! They were so pretty! The centerpieces consisted of rosemary topiaries and some type of perennial flower (sorry, I have no idea what kind!)

Rustic, Vintage Wedding in Connecticut, II

Loving this sweet, family inspired wedding that Carla Ten Eyck sent us. Carla completely nailed it with the vintage style photography, capturing the intimate and yet totally elegant style of the day. You know, I am a firm believer that although a wedding should be a reflection of the couple…it is also one of the only times in our lives where our families come together to celebrate something so incredibly special

Something Old, Something New, Something…Well, You Get the Point

So far, I’ve shown you a lot of my little DIY projects and talked a lot about where our wedding will be, why it is the way it is, and what we’re going through emotionally. But you haven’t seen a lot of what I’ll be wearing besides my shoes . And since the bride’s outfit is always one of my favorite parts of any wedding I attend, I figured I’d start showing you some attire details! (Photo credit Etsy Seller ParisPennsylvania ) For now, my something old is another Etsy purchase.
