We have been very busy here at Heartprint Photography, but we did want to take time out today to say a heartfelt  “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY”   to all our dads!  We are incredibly proud of the fact that so many of our dads have chosen to be photographed with their children this year!  Imagine ten or fifteen years from now how important it will be to your sons and daughters to see images of the two of you together at such a young age.  These genuinely are images that will be cherished for generations to come, and we do not take that responsibility lightly.  Thank you so much Fathers for giving your children this gift of love.  Here’s to you dad! Happy Father’s Day from Heartprint Photography, Connecticut Photographer, Southbury CT

Rosalie & Rich, the engagement session… Rosalie and Rich chose to do their engagement session on Long Island Sound in Stratford, CT.  Do I need to say, this location is to die for?  What I love about the location, other than the stunning scenery, is that they actually live there, and we started the engagement session in their own backyard.  The marina, the salt water marshes, the tranquil water have been part of their own story.  We always encourage our couples to chose a location that is part of their own love story, so Rosalie & Rich, we thank you.  We ask our couples to try to think of a place that has special meaning to them.  It does not have to have elaborate landscaping and fancy architecture, that really is not our style.  We look for the beautiful reflections, the long shadows, the hidden corners, the interesting light…Here are a  couple of our  favorite examples from their session, purposely chosen to show that it is not the location, it is the feeling and the light, and more than anything the emotion, that truly MAKE the engagement session.  To be continued June 10, 2011 at The Waterview, Monroe CT… Share this on Facebook Tweet This! This little guy was such fun, so full of grins and genuine laughs!  I also just LOVE his Ugly Doll, and obviously he does too!  You know what else he loves?  His dog Fiona, she came along to be in the family portrait as well, and she was SO well behaved!  Thanks for a fun session! In my attempt to catch up on some blogging, I’d like to share the beautiful wedding of Luba and Scott. Luba and Scott traveled down from New York, to celebrate their Big Day at the Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island. Though a destination wedding for the couple, you would never know it by the number in attendance.

This was a very international wedding – French groom, Irish bride, both living in Spain! The couple are great fun – and we had everything from rifle shooting at the front of the church (a Donegal tradition??) to speeches in 3 languages! Great! Above: At the brides house (check out the veil!) Above: I think the brides mother thought I was a little bit crazy when I suggested taking a photo at this old out-house wall! We first met Erica and Louis when they came down to Savannah in March, for their engagement session.  We had such a great time together, it felt like we had been friends for years… Well this weekend, was finally their Big Day in Hilton Head, at the beautiful Sea Pines Resort . The wedding day started out, with Erica and Louis anxiously getting ready and anticipating the first time they would see each another, that day.

These are two of my very favorite newborn portraits.  The second always reminds me of Billy Dean’s ”Let Them Be Little”  :  I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand Felt so good in it, no bigger than a minute How it amazes me, you’re changing with every blink Faster than a flower blooms they grow up all too soon. …which is exactly why I am so passionate about  newborn photography, you have such a short period of time to really capture those precious moments.
