Love, Texas Style: The Most Important Part

So, I know that the reception usually gets tons of attention, what with the booze flowing and the fancy footwork on the dance floor. However, early on I identified our wedding ceremony as the most important part of our wedding day and tried mightily to ensure that we didn’t lose sight of the real reason we had all gathered together on the golf course that sunny afternoon

High School Senior Photographer, Headshots, Connecticut Photography

Connecticut-High-School-Senior-Photographer,-Headshot,-Heartprint-Photography Connecticut-High-School-Senior-Photographer,-Headshot,-Heartprint-Photography Connecticut-High-School-Senior-Photographer,-Headshot,-Heartprint-Photography It’s that time of year, only a few short weeks here in Connecticut till school is back in session, and the busiest time at our studio for high school seniors!  In the next few weeks we will be posting a number of  images from this year’s senior sessions, but I really wanted to post a few images of these two sisters.  Technically, one is a senior and one a freshman, but notice the cool clothing.  We tend to suggest neutrals, not a lot of pattern for clothing choices, but boy, did these two girls prove us wrong!  They went with bright, bold, and very hip…and they look fantastic!  The bright fun colors really match their personalities.  So take note seniors, when choosing clothing for you senior session,  wear what you love!

Real Wedding – Grace and Brian

Grace, one of our fabulous readers, sent over some images of her wedding with the most unique details! I love the HOT PINK shoes, beautiful monochromatic bouquet with shades of blush flowers, and of course the most adorable wedding topper ever… Grace was kind enough to share some tidbits from her lovely day… This wedding was a celebration of union of two people and their families, as well as the union of two cultures of Korean and French. Held in the beautiful Rancho Las Lomas venue, it was an outdoor spring garden ceremony and reception with details and DYI projects galore!! Favors included traditional Korean bride and groom magnets in various styles of outfits.  Ceremony programs, place cards, menu cards, table number cards, etc were all DYI projects.  Our trio of cake tables were also one of our highlights

Southern Wedding of the Week: Samantha + Tyler

I couldn’t think of a better way to end another busy week here at SW than with a South Carolina beach wedding like Samantha + Tyler’s, shot by Nate and Amanda Reynolds of Turtle Pond Photography and planned by Morgan Gallo .  Everything from the bridesmaid’s fresh, color-coordinated Caribbean blue and citrus green J. Crew dresses and fun beaded necklaces from Old Navy to the bride’s tiered Watters gown and the crisp bouquets by Amy Harvey gets me daydreaming about a sunny weekend by t

Email Sent in from PIF reader {Advice on Getting your groove back into Photography}

I get emails sent in asking for advice and I got to thinking, Why not poise this question and email to my fellow colleagues in our industry who may have additional advice?? Lindsay,   First, let me say I absolutely love the idea of Pay it Forward.  What a fabulous website you have and such great information.   I was a photography minor in college, mostly medium format and dark room stuff, not too much digital.  But recently, in planning my own wedding I’ve been itching to get back into it

Southern Glamour and Vintage Charm ~ Wedding From Richard Israel

Southern charm just oozes out of every pixel of today’s Little Black Book feature from Richard Israel and the lovely ladies at A Charleston Bride ! I can’t tell you how much we love these sweet moments that Richard captured … And … I can’t tell you how much we love this place ! Christy and  Rodney were married at the historic William Aiken house . (We featured Alice & Jeff’s wedding here a few weeks ago and each time we see it, we fall in love with the venue all over again!) When asked why they chose to marry at this particular spot, Christy said, “Charleston is only 3 hours from Charlotte and offers great restaurants, shopping and the beach—our perfect getaway spot. We wanted to share this city with our friends and family and make a weekend of our special day! We evaluated many places but agreed that the William Aiken House was exactly what we wanted.” more from Christy … Modern Vintage/Glam sort of evolved—I never had a planned vision leading up to the process—I was actually very unprepared for once in my life! I’ve always loved mixing modern and vintage—I fell in love with damask early in the process and wanted to incorporate my favorite color yellow (which, to me, is very modern).

Oh, What a Wonderful Weekend!

Everything was so much fun and I can’t believe we get to do it all over again in a month for Brandon’s other cousin’s (Breanna’s sister’s) wedding!…I had neevr even thought of something like it, but it really incorporated worship into their wedding like their faith is in their relationship….Immediately after the photography session, we all headed back to the hotel to change clothes and get ready for Mimi and Papa’s 50th Wedding Anniversary party….Saturday (Mimi and Papa’s actual 50th anniversary) was the wedding day….

I love everything about today’s featured wedding. It’s chic without being overly designed, it’s traditional without being stuffy and contemporary without being edgy. It’s perfect in my book AND it just happens to be my SMP research associates wedding which makes it even more special! photography courtesy of Karyn Iserman From Carrie…the beautiful bride! I loved the surprises Carrie and Leigh at A Charleston Bride created.

Take That Tribute ‘Just That’

Lieutenant Tibs posted a photo: After photography I keep busy performing in a Take That tribute. I work in the office at Key103 in Manchester and we have been using the space to rehearse and record our demos, so while there we thought we’d take the oportunity for a photo against the branded wall normally reserved for celebrities! Hampshire Wedding Photography – Anne and Clyde, Tithe Barn, Ditcham

Tithe Barn…hmmmm…I get the feeling I’ve been here before.  Always looking for something new here and again it was a result.  Fortunately for me Anne and Clyde are stand in Vogue models.  They had all the moves…I suspect its a case of too much Britain’s Next Top Model but its only a malicious rumour.  These two meet when Anne was on an African photographic expedition.  Clyde was the guide.  So not only do they do ‘Blue Steel’ they all also know about photography.  Fine by me! Becky & Andy’s DIY Vermont Winter Wedding

The Offbeat Bride: Becky, Counseling Teacher Her Offbeat Partner: Andy, Math Grad Student Location & date of wedding: St Joseph's Co-Cathedral and Sunset Ballroom, Burlington, VT — 01/03/09 What made our wedding offbeat: To save money, we got married during the “off-season,” which was sweet because we wanted to show our family and friends a good old time in our current hometown in Vermont and… what's more picturesque than Vermont in winter? I didn't want the drama of having hurt friends' feelings when I picked my wedding party, so I kept it all in the family and had my brothers and Andy's sister as my bridesmen/maid.

Beach Wedding Inspiration From Rhode Island

Krystal and Paul at Studio Foto sent us the photos from their friends’, Christine and Zack’s wedding. Krystal and Paul attended as guests! But when it comes to true-blue photographers, it’s rare for them to leave the cameras behind.  The wedding was at Weekapaug Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island and as you’ll see, it embraced all that is beautiful about the beach … It’s pretty obvious that lots of love went into planning the wedding details of Christine & Zack’s big day.  It’s also equally obvious that the overall picture they wanted to achieve was a huge success! from Christine … When planning our wedding we were both on the same page about one thing. We wanted to get married on the beach! Our toes in the sand and ocean waves rolling

Susan (Bridal Session)

Such a beautiful bride-to-be to compliment such a beautiful location… After talking with Susan about the perfect location for her bridals, we decided that Belfair Plantation would be exactly what we were looking for. With its beautiful landscapes and sweeping grounds, it is very hard to deny its charm. We had such a great time during the shoot and we even found time between the rains to capture some amazing outdoor images! Susan and and her fiance Jon will be married at the Calvary Baptist Church, in Savannah, followed by a reception at the always gorgeous, Savannah Yacht Club.

Today some of the images I took of Amanda & Viet’s elopement were featured on RockNRollBride.com , which is a fun blog that is “all about the weddings, the photography and the charm of normal people’s, extraordinary weddings.” (I just love that description straight from the blog’s “About” section.)
