Ubuntu’s New Firefox Is Watching You

August 7th, 2009 | by Linux W | sukotto writes “Ubuntu recently released an unannounced and experimental ‘multisearch’ extension to Firefox alpha 3, apparently in an effort to improve the default behavior of new tabs and of search. Wild Card Friday: My Journey Through Middle Earth.

Having neglected The Lord of the Rings for much of the summer, I have decided to continue reading this book.  Simply put, this week’s Wild Card Friday will briefly touch on this matter, as well as addressing my absence from this blog. First of all, I plan on continuing The Lord of the Rings .  The plan is to read 2 chapters a day.  At that pace, the book should be read in about a month.  Knowing how I have stopped reading this in the past, we’ll see how far this commitment will go.

Hack attack spares MySpace injury, but not insult

MySpace.com dodged a bullet on Thursday, but in the process the social networking site may have gotten a stinging slap in the face instead. Hackers trained their fire on social media highflyers Twitter and Facebook Thursday morning, knocking the former entirely offline for a few hours and slowing things down on the latter site. LiveJournal, a blogging site, was also a victim of the so-called denial of service attacks.
