Bob Cheevers – “Tall Texas Tales” (Feb. 14)

If you asked me what one of my favorite records of all time is you’d get kind of a strange answer. It would probably be this little record from Bob Cheevers called Gettysburg To Graceland .

Follow Me

You ever goto those parties in the middle of the bush or on some desolate beach and you have no clue where to go. You gotta link with some sketchy character on a dirtbike at a meeting point about a mile away and follow him down some strange wooded path. Are those not the best?

Bomb the Music Industry – Album Minus Band (For fans of Big D and the Kid’s Table, ASOB, Mustard Plug)

This past weekend I went to Long Island to visit some friends, and I was thinking about bands from there, and realized I never posted on one of my favorite albums by Long Islanders Bomb The Music Industry. After The Arrogant Sons of Bitches broke up, I was kind of bummed out. I was a pretty big fan of the band, and saw them a handful of times. So when I heard that Jeff was starting his own side

Hard Work, Hard Head, Hard as a rock, and Raw Beats.

I sat down yesterday after looking at my grades and felt the same feeling I get when people tell me how much they love what we do with Spit Truth, all this hard work actually does pay off. I don’t regret a minute that I spent living in the caves of the educational institution I did all semester, I mean it didn’t hurt that the library is a way better pick up spot than the bar and you don’t have to waste money! (SHHH don’t tell anyone though…) Nor do I regret a minute seeking out music and rocking out these posts for all of you.

Where I’m Comin From

I can’t help but quote a line from Henri Ducard in Batman Begins here, “If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal and if they can’t stop you, you become something else entirely – a legend, Mister Wayne.”-Henri Ducard, Batman Begins This post is written from deep within the confines of an educational institution somewhere in the world. I am in a room with no windows within an area that is open 24 hours known by the elite as the Phantom Caves.

Spit From The Soul, Work From The Heart. Feel What I Feel.

Over this last weekend passed I ran into London scholar and reporter Kristine Jackson whom asked me, “Do you DJ because you love it or because of the control over the crowd you have?” I responded with, “I love when they feel what I feel about the music.

Bomb The Music Industry (Live In Philly 11/18/09)

On Wed night, I headed down to South Philly’s Ava House to see Bomb The Music Industry on their “Bring Your Own Band” tour. On this tour, Jeff reverted back to BTMI olden days, where he would go on tour with just an MP3 player, and anybody who wanted to play along could bring their instruments. Unfortunately I did not have a kazoo or a triangle to play along.Curtis IrieWhen I walked in, Curtis

Irish ISP to Start Blocking Pirate Bay Sep 1st

Others still refuse, and unlike Eircom, vow to vigorously fight the music industry in court, but considering the Swedish BitTorrent tracker site goes legit August 27th move may be short-lived. Back in January Irish ISP Eircom agreed to settle a a lawsuit brought against it by music labels EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner who accused it of not doing enough to combat copyright infringement by its subscribers. UK Music Artist Hits Back against YouTube Taking down Music Videos

Calvin Harris has branded the British Phonographic Industry “cunts”, accusing them of causing the removal of his official music videos from YouTube. The Business of Faith

For me the realization came a few years ago when I was given a book about how to succeed in the Christian music industry.  I had never thought of it as an “industry” before, but I as I finished the book written by those who were Christian musicians that I admired and considered gifted, there was no escaping the truth.  I have nothing wrong with business in general, but most modern business principles are far removed from the standards of behavior that God calls His people to uphold.  There is a
