Hayden – Let’s Break Up

Defiant to the bitter end, Hayden delivers a fine piece of scorned indie/folk love-rock with Let’s Break Up .  Found on Paul Hayden Desser’s 2009 full-length release The Place Where We Lived , the song offers a number of lines that should be immediately written down for use if ever on the shittier side of a break-up.  Like Hayden’s previous 7 full-length efforts, The Place Where We Lived was released via his recording label Hardwood Records .

The Rolling Stones guitarist was recently seen getting over his former girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova with the help of an as of yet unknown brunette… or so the speculations go. This is what a source said about Ronnie Wood’s new special friend: “She stepped out of Ronnie’s chauffeur-driven car with a scarf around her face. When she unveiled herself she was stunning.

By Adrian Covert Last Friday night, Wyclef Jean stood on a CNN set peforming as part of a benefit telethon for Haiti. But it wasn’t the hip-hop/reggae/dancehall we normally see and hear on American airwaves. It was Kompas – the local music of Haiti, where Wyclef is from.

Bob Cheevers – “Tall Texas Tales” (Feb. 14)

If you asked me what one of my favorite records of all time is you’d get kind of a strange answer. It would probably be this little record from Bob Cheevers called Gettysburg To Graceland .

Joe Jackson needs more dough

It seems that Michael Jackson’s father is still up to his no good ways… or rather, his no good ways might have pushed him down a gopher hole he can’t get out of now. Joe Jackson has recently filled papers requesting more than 15 000 dollars a month in allowance from Michael Jackson’s estate, but it seems the late singer’s lawyers aren’t going to play sugar with his daddy.

We Are The City – Astronomers

Really fantastic song up today from the Kelowna, British Columbia progressive indie-rock trio We Are The City.  Originally formed in 2006 under the name “Seraph”, the band changed their name to “The City” in 2007, and then added the all important “We Are”  in May of 2008.  Consisting of Cayne McKenzie on vocals and keys, David Menzel on guitar, and Andy Huculiak on drums, We Are The City deliver a completely unexpected, but welcomly familiar, sound
